No child or young person is left behind.
Inspire Interventions work in an extremely sensitive area – they provide a final safety net, when a child or young person is facing exclusion or has been excluded from education, is not responding in care or won’t engage with anyone.
They are a busy and successful team but they know that many local education bodies and other referring bodies in their area simply do not know about their powerful offer.
Inspire Interventions needed a professional brand that would support the story they would be telling to these bodies. They also wanted a website as a first port of call for anyone doing due diligence on the organisation.
Ambitions were asked to create a new consistent brand and website direction that reflected the Inspire Interventions approach to positive change and provide them with the authority needed to grow their service and procure funding.
The challenge for the brand was to covey the great skill and expertise of the organisation to make sure that the child protection bodies and local authorities felt confident in them while at the same time creating a brand that would not intimidate or alienate the children who are at th heart of it all.
The website design faced another difficulty: we could clearly not show any photographs of any of the service users or really any of the actual activities in any detail at all.
We created a bright, colourful and bold logo and professional brand, to add authority to conversations with schools and other organisations and ultimately grow the business.
The new logo and branding were used to create a new website plus printed support material, such as brochure and branded folders.
We infused the brand with a joyful, positive feel full of potential and life, making it approachable for professionals and children. The new distinctive and reputable look caters for the children and staff, while remaining professional.
How do you start a re-branding process?
By holding carefully structured interviews with the leadership, the team and any other stakeholders we are able to build a clear picture of the ethos of the organisation. In this case it was clearly impossible to speak with any users of the service as we normally would.
That said, the team members who are out working with children were all extremely articulate and clear on the motivations for their work.
With an agreed brand book in our hands – where we have agreed the organisation’s values, behaviours and tone of voice among many other things, we are able to move into design. This stage starts with various ideas for the Inspire Interventions logo.
Inspire Interventions is an unusual and wonderful organisation – they tackle some of the hardest problems one can imagine through the power of play. By engaging with children who have otherwise stopped any meaningful interaction with school or even parents their sense of open-minded playfulness has a powerful effect.
The challenge for the brand was to carefully build on this sense of creativity in way that did not undermine the huge expertise of each team member and the overall effectiveness of each outcome for the children in their care.
By using bold colours and warm but free-flowing illustrations we aimed to capture the spirit of Inspire Interventions and make sure that the organisation is at once open and warmly welcoming for parents and children but also positioned as authoritative for any child-care bodies looking to employ Inspire Interventions.
Becki from Inspire Interventions:
‘As a complete novice to the marketing game, Nick and his team made the whole process understandable and smooth. More importantly though they took the time to really understand our organisation, values and ethos. This was evident when it came to the rebranding of our business! They delivered more than we could ever have expected. Couldn’t recommend them enough.’
