For Plymouth to be a trauma-informed city.
Trauma Informed Plymouth Network (TIPN)’s came to us at a time when they were moving from being a passionate group of experts in the field to being a more formal body. They wanted a central hub where knowledge could be shared and promotoed to those in need. This, in turn, drove the need for a visual identity and website.
Creating a brand from scratch is an exciting prospect but one that comes, in this case, with a unique set of challenges. Firstly, of course Trauma Informed Plymouth Network had no starting point so getting the wide group of people to gather around the new direction would be difficult. Secondly, they work in a very sensitive area in which neither the group members of those receiving support could be identified.
This exciting project has seen the network of experts come together to agree and fully get behind their fist ever visual identity.
Trauma Informed Plymouth Network now has a beautifully designed website giving them a solid foundation for the sharing of knowledge and the growth of their network. The site will never be the focus of a huge SEO campaign or any marketing all but is nonetheless vital to them being able to build their incredible work in the city.
For this truly exciting project the first stage was to interview the incredibly diverse group of people that make up the network. Trauma Informed Plymouth Network‘s people range from experienced Child Support workers and charity officers from some of the UK’s biggest charities to police officers and teachers – all of which made the interview process fascinating and productive.
These carefully structured initial interviews are then worked into a draft Brand Book to give the core team at TIPN a chance to see their mission, vision, values and behaviours.
With these agreed, our designers can set to work to show them ideas for their logo and the brand identity which naturally flows from it. This is where it gets really exciting ….
The Trauma Informed Plymouth Network is a powerful organisation doing the important work of spreading knowledge about a reasonably new and vital area of human understanding.
Their logo’s genesis is in the tree of knowledge and speech marks to represent the power of dialogue in mitigating the effects of trauma and in spreading understanding.
Their values are shared using a graphic tool kit based closely on their logo and they key colours. By taking an element of the tree or some very simple icons we can navigate the various areas of the website with ease and understand that we are in the hands of a calm, reassuring organisation that will help us find the understanding we seek.
Our websites are as individual as you, we design bespoke websites that form a seamless component to the entire brand experience.
